Whatever level of fitness you now enjoy, Movement Training by Design can improve the fluidity of motion in your every day life. You don’t have to be an athlete to improve movement. We specialize in helping all types of people participate in fitness, sports, and life. Our brand of functional training improves range of motion, improves strength and flexibility, and improves endurance and power. Our clients find they can increase their fitness level, reduce injury, and gain confidence. We adapt or develop exercises which allow individuals to perform the activities of daily life more easily and without injuries.
Why? People who move well and move often feel better. Do you find yourself saying ‘I’m just not that flexible’; ‘I can’t move as well as I used to – that’s just a fact of life’; or, ‘If I move too quickly, it hurts’? Perhaps you would just like to improve how you move. The ability to move, your confidence level and self-esteem are all tied together. If you feel you don’t move easily or well, you may find yourself avoiding activities with family members, friends or colleagues. You may even find you don’t function as well at work – though your work is more mental than physical – because you just don’t feel good about yourself.
Anyone can benefit from Movement Training by Design. People from all walks of life come through our doors with a wide spectrum of issues. Our brand of personal training can help people with serious health problems, people who are not healthy, people who are recovering from trauma or injury, people who suffer from chronic pain, and people whose impairment affects the way their bodies perform. If you suffer from osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, hip pain, back pain, hemiplegia, hemiparesis, paraplegia, limited range of motion, lack of muscle tone, lack of coordination, post-surgical muscle atrophy, neurological trauma or other orthopedic insults, Movement Training by Design will help you.

Meet John Watson, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
Based on your health, lifestyle, exercise history, movement screens and fitness goals, we develop a process that enables you to reach your goals safely and quickly.
We specialize in helping people who have compromised movement because of orthopedic and other health issues. We also work with clients ranging from high school athletes to middle aged golfers.
Quality of movement is important in performance, reducing risk of injury, and recovering from injury and pain. For this reason, we screen movements before beginning an exercise program.
